Here are some resources:
- The Colorado Natural Heritage Program has a Colorado Wetland Information Center with an overview of wetland types and much more.
- They also have an excellent Wetlands Mapper. Once you launch the Colorado Wetlands Mapper Tool, you can zoom and pan in to find the area of interest, then enable certain displays.
- Another great site is the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service National Wetland Inventory (NWI) Mapping Tool.

Did you know - there's a wonderful website that tells the water level ( and how deep they had to drill) of wells in Colorado!
When you first visit the site, it shows clusters of data, where the number in the center indicates how many data points there are in that region.
For example, in the image below, there are 145 data points near Buena Vista, and 129 data points near Salida:
Continue to zoom in and pan, until you find the area of interest. Keep zooming until you see a series of black dots like this:
Click one of the black dots and then click "View details for this row". The screen will split, and the lower half has detailed information on the dot you selected.
Note the arrows to the left and to the right of the legend "Viewing row 59 of 147" - click those arrows to move forward and backwards, to view information on other locations. The location you are viewing is highlighted.
Enjoy!
